What are temporary partial dentures (also known as Flippers)?

Temporary Acrylic Partial Dentures, or commonly referred to as a Flipper Denture, are an inexpensive way to replace any missing tooth quickly. This device looks like a retainer and fits along the roof of the mouth which has prosthetic teeth attached to it, making your smile appear full and natural. Typically, a patient will require the use of a Flipper if they have a missing tooth due to a dental extraction or caused by an accident that knocked a tooth out.

This form of denture is quick to prepare and will help stabilize your surrounding teeth to ensure they do not shift into improper positions. A Flipper is not usually intended for long-term use. Flippers are used temporarily while waiting for a more permanent solution, such as dental implants, dental crowns, or a dental bridge.
